I'm Not A Murderer

I.
I woke up in the middle of the night
A scream shivered down my spine
I heard a cry from afar, then
I saw a ray of sunshine
I wished it would last forever
And a murderer would turn into a lover

II.
In the cage of loneliness and
An overcrowded emptiness
I see them with no hope in hell
Of escaping from the dark age
I'll never make them stay in pain forever
'Coz I'm not  a murderer, I'm a lover

Chorus
It's not new not everyone caresMy people this isn't a maze

Aren't they so easy to save
From living in the cruellest way

III.
How I wish it didn't come to pass
And the trade had finally come at last
What of that if there's a few of us?
We're stronger than we have thought we are
I'll never make them stay in pain forever
'Coz I'm not a murderer, I'm a lover

(I thought I would include images of real animals suffering from laboratory tests, victims of taxidermy, illegally traded animals, and more - because to them I especially dedicate this song. But I regularly visit my blogger and I can't grapple with the sorrow those pictures bring to me. )
(I don't own any of the photos)
